Sunset Gives Back

To close out 2017, we were more than honored to present Tidewell Hospice with a $10,000 donation in honor of our longtime employee, Shelly Woolf, who we lost this past year. Shelly will forever be remembered and was the Office Manager at our Sunset Kia Sarasota location. Melissa Crowley, Chief Financial Officer, and Kevin Simmons, General Manager of our Sunset Kia of Sarasota store, presented Denise Pope, Chief Philanthropy Officer, with the check.
 


Heading into 2018, we were honored yet again to give back and support Loveland Center, Inc. with a $5000 donation! Jeff Kaminske, Executive General Manager of Sunset Cadillac of Venice and Sunset Kia of Venice, presented, Patrick Guerin III, CEO and President, Jennifer Bushinger, Director of Community Impact, and Rafael E. Robles, Chief Development Officer with the check December 1st at our Sunset Cadillac of Venice store. The Loveland Center's mission is to help adults with developmental disabilities live their lives to the fullest. Our "student-first" philosophy provides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunities to learn new skills, have a diverse set of life experiences, and grow to meet their individual goals.
 

In the spirit of giving, we were honored to present a $5,000 donation to The Library Foundation of Sarasota County. Dan Bonora, General Manager, of our INFINITI of Sarasota store presented Karen Eastmoore with the check on November 27th.
 



We were honored to present a $10,000 donation to the Sarasota County (FL) Sheriff's Office Sheriff's Activities League. Mike Freeman, General Manager of Sunset Chevy Buick GMC, presented Sheriff Tom Knight, Major Jeff Bell and Sheriff's Activities League board members Lance Karp (Sarasota Dental Group, Drs. Fabiani and Karp, Drs. Fabiani and Karp) and Stewie Bitterman, with the check on November 21st. The Sheriff's Activities League's (SAL) mission is as follows: to provide youth with safe, experiential education opportunities that allow them to explore the diverse aspects of our communities, all while developing positive relationships with our deputies.
 


In the spirit of giving back and staying connected through the community, Sunset Auto Group was honored to presented Children's Guardian Fund with a $5,000 donation. Steve Montanaro, General Manager of our Sunset Cadillac of Sarasota store, presented Carol Belmont, Board Chair of Children's Guardian Fund, with the check on November 15th, 2017.
 



Once again, we were honored to celebrate the spirit of being connected through community and presented Brandi's Wish Foundation with a $5,000 donation on November 3, 2017! The mission of Brandi's Wish is to raise awareness through education and offer preventive solutions to teens and their families regarding the dangers of prescription drug misuse and abuse. Vance Dickinson and Mark Cobb, General Manager of Porsche/VW, presented Lisa Brandy and Gigi Kovach with the check.

Community Assisted and Supported Living (CASL), is a 501 (c) 3, not for profit organization which provides affordable housing and other needed services to adults with developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance abuse problems and co-occuring disorders, as well as to wounded veterans and the homeless.  Founded in 1998 in Sarasota county,  by 2016 CASL had expanded services to four additional counties - Manatee, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier.   CASL serves 580+ low or very low income clients at 140 locations.  Licensed case workers and life coaches provide residents with living skills training, medication management and other assistance based on individual need.  
 


Sunset Automotive Group donated $10,000 to Hope Family Services, Inc. in Bradenton on October 30, 2017. HOPE's primary purpose is to provide services to survivors of domestic violence and help them stay safe, gain strength, and evaluate their options. Melissa McKeehan, Chief Financial Officer and Andrea Jackson, Executive Director presented Laurel Lynch, CEO and Dawn Bryant, Shelter Director with the check.

CASL, is a 501 (c) 3, not for profit organization which provides affordable housing and other needed services to adults with developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance abuse problems and co-occuring disorders, as well as to wounded veterans and the homeless. The organization was founded in 1998 and supports Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties. Jim Lander, Executive Manager Audi Sarasota and Don Osbourne, General Manager Sunset Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Subaru FIAT and Alfa Romeo presented Scott Eller, CEO of CASL, with the check! We are thrilled and honored to support this cause.
